Effective Clinical Teaching Workshops
These effective clinical teaching workshops are designed to assist tutors, supervisors and other clinical teachers in one to one and small group teaching.
These workshops have an interactive introductory session involving multidisciplinary facilitation by an educator and senior clinicians. Students and staff then rotate through "micro-teaching" stations such as interpretation of patient results; reading and interpreting X-rays and examination of the respiratory or other system in a school age child.
Teachers receive feedback from experienced tutors, and from students. The clinical scenarios are common ones, as the focus is on improving ward-based teaching and encouraging staff to capitalise on teaching opportunities as they arise in everyday clinical work.
